The Hale, that’s me, & The Hound, my dog Tara & Blooms.
People ask about the name and as someone who never fully understood the love of dogs until I got one myself, all thanks to my husband, I believe its only right to credit her for why I am here today. Thanks to her, this hound made this Hale bloom.
Having always been green fingered, lost in my garden, finding so much joy in being outdoors my hope is to provide the joy I get from flowers and nature to others.
My style is very natural and free flowing. I am guided by the seasons of the UK and always on the lookout for new varieties and design ideas. If I’m not testing and trialling new designs in my little studio you’ll find me immersed in the countryside with the dog gathering inspiration and usually in a hedgerow asking “what’s that and how can I use it…”
I am determined to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible in my work and so spend much time trying to use alternatives to standard practices in floristry.
Although I am not perfect I believe that we have to try. That means we use British flowers whenever possible and no floral form ever. I have even started growing my own cutting garden which is a collection of firm favourites in my work. You can follow us on social media to keep up to date on how we are getting on.
I work heavily off your chosen colour scheme and what’s in season however if we can’t get what we need locally then my alternative is to buy from Holland.
I hope the knowledge of being kinder to the environment and supporting local businesses gives my clients a sense that we’re doing good together. A bonus as well is that the varieties and options are endless when going off of colour scheme which means we get flowers we wouldn’t often think of. I think it makes your event far more unique and special.
I passionately believe that flowers are good for the soul. Everyone has some connection to mother nature.
